The Secret to Creation
Have you ever found yourself doing something you don’t really want to do?
Your emotions can hinder your progress. It feels as if all your energy has been drained, leaving you with no enthusiasm. You feel like you’re doing it because you have to. For many people, this is how going to work feels, even though it shouldn’t.
On the other hand, when you’re doing something you really and genuinely enjoy or love, you have all the energy you need, enthusiasm and you want to be there. That’s how you feel when you pursue your hobby, watch a movie or go out with friends.
Every time you feel these positive emotions, whether good or bad, you imprint in your subconscious a link between that feeling and that event. However, you can consciously change that connection, by changing your emotional response to that event.
Emotion and the Subconscious
On the surface, it seems that our emotions have a part to play only as far as influencing our likes and dislikes. However, the impact of emotions plays a more profound and crucial role in shaping our lives.
As mentioned above, and in previous posts, our emotions have the power to create beliefs and embed ideas in our subconscious mind. Whether the subconscious accepts these ideas or beliefs depends on the level of emotional commitment we have towards them. Consequently, our lives play out accordingly.
The subconscious mind is subjective, and to imprint an idea requires an emotional attachment. The idea or thought must be subjective, one that stirs deep emotions within you.
This is why illnesses, worries and fears persist. They are ideas and thoughts that carry intense emotional content, a profound feeling. Due to that depth of feeling, combined with the belief that they can manifest (they feel real), they become imprinted, embedded, and real to the subconscious mind.
It’s like the person who says that every year, around November time, when the weather changes, they come down with a cold or flu. Not surprisingly, that is exactly what happens. There’s a mechanism to this, but, for now, let’s focus on the emotional aspect. They believe it and emotionalise reinforce that belief. Consequently, the subconscious mind accepts it as fact and truth, making it real.
Change the feeling
One way to overcome a belief is by changing your response to a given event or situation.
When circumstances force you into some sort of distress, quickly return to yourself. Do not stay out of rhythm for longer than you must; you will master the harmony more by constantly going back to it. – Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperor and a profound stoic advises us to seek harmony whenever discomfort arises. When fear, worry, distress, panic, or any unwanted emotion starts to overwhelm you due to an event, respond by consciously changing how you feel. Enter into a state, a feeling of harmony deliberately. As you make this choice more frequently, you will also notice a change in your outcomes.
For example, when driving and another driver cuts you off, laugh or smile at the situation, rather than losing your temper, getting angry, and raising your blood pressure. The incident has already happened, and you cannot change it. Instead, smile or laugh, realizing that you have control over yourself. With continuous conscious effort and persistence, you will see this response reflected in other aspects of your life, resulting in a change in your outcomes.
The other beliefs we have we can also alter by “attaching” a different feeling to them. Rather than feeling scared of the dark, choose to feel excited. Embrace the dark as an opportunity to gaze at the stars and look at the world from a different perspective. By changing your perspective and changing the feeling, you can bring about a change in your life.
Change your Life
When you take charge of your emotional responses and consciously choose how you feel, you initiate a transformation in the outcomes of your life. Your vibrational energy shifts, your beliefs transform, and your interactions will change. You will begin to see things differently, and others will perceive you differently. In accordance with the Law, the universe will respond to you differently.
The universe is that energy that binds us all together, from where the formless takes form and your ideas and thoughts when imbued with emotion, manifest in reality.
What you emotionally reinforce and believe becomes your ultimate truth. It doesn’t matter what you consciously tell yourself; what matters is what your subconscious accepts as truth. And this is determined by how you feel and what you genuinely believe.
